Transfer Students

Are you a transfer student determined to challenge yourself to become the best version of YOU?  Participation in the University Honors Program will help you do just that!

Our program provides high-ability students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in a community of like-minded peers, dive deeper into their academic studies, and conduct research alongside a faculty member in their respective discipline.

We are committed to YOU and your success.  No matter your academic timeline, we will provide you with individual advising to assist you in reaching your goals.

Application Process

Traditional Transfer Path

Transfer students with a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and a professor's recommendation (from their previous institution) are encouraged to apply for admission to our program one semester prior to transferring.

Partnership Program Students

Graduating honors program members from DMACC, Scott Community College, and Southeastern Community College who wish to join the University Honors Program at UNI should submit an Intent to Join one semester prior to transferring.

Transfer students participating in the University Honors Program will be considered for an Honors Transfer Scholarship of up to $3,000.  The scholarship is renewable for an additional year with a 3.30+ cumulative GPA and active student status in the University Honors Program.  Awards for the 2022-2023 academic year will be made July 2022.
