How has HSP participation enhanced your college experience at UNI? Through the Legacy Scholars program I have been able to connect with other minority students who have high aspirations like myself. Through Honors I have been able to take classes that keep me more engaged since there are a lot less tests and a lot more writing to explain ourselves. In all of the honors classes I have taken I have been able to participate in deep discussions to further my education. It is nice to build connections with people who genuinely care about education and improving themselves.
How has your HSP experience prepared you for life after UNI? I have been able to learn about real world problems such as housing inequality that can be changed. Through learning about advocacy and making positive changes I have learned how to be a better person. I have also learned how to write better papers and better articulate what I want to say. I have been able to build connections with faculty that can help me in the future with letters of recommendation and networking further.
